Submission Guidelines:

If Only Because is currently accepting a wide-range of submissions, including (but not limited to) fiction, creative non-fiction, flash fiction, and poetry. Our guidelines (as of now) are fairly lax, but some words of advice: we’re looking for creative, inspired, and driven work, previously unpublished: work unique in subject and content to the writer themselves. Any submissions dealing with pre-established characters or events belonging to another writer will be summarily disregarded, for obvious reasons.

Rejected submissions can be re-submitted after revision to be treated as a new entry to the journal.

In terms of word limit, we’re welcome to see a wide variety—as of now, our largest restraint is space in the magazine, so we’re looking at pieces up to 5000 words. Get creative, show us your best efforts, and make our days.
