The Failed Title Competition:

Montly Entry.

"While Charlotte and I were considering what to call this journal we found ourselves with a little notebook in our friend Scott’s great meadery, The Great Untamed, in Laramie, with a handful of friends who we asked to suggest titles. The conversation started fairly earnestly (and included, among others, one Barry Burton, whose story, Not Your Ordinary Death Bed, you should have, by now, indulged), but a group of friends can only partake in so much mead before things get out of hand. The notebook started getting passed around from person to person, and the eminent goal of the act was no longer to correctly name this publication but to out-clever one another. Eventually (and, as it turns out, at a completely different establishment), the notebook also started finding its way to strangers who, thankfully, added to our list (and, in one case, wrote a small poem amongst the titles). Very few of these are usable for our purposes, but we hope that you might consider taking one and using it as an inspiration and title for your own writing. All pieces we receive using any of the titles below will be entered into our very first contest, and the best of the bunch will find its way into a later issue."
